My virtual reality project Glacial Now was awarded a $42,000 New Directions grant by my University. After some prototyping work this summer in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I will travel to the Aletsch Glacier in Switzerland for field work, and deploy sensors which will feed data into the VR app users will be able to interact with in late 2020. The project, in collaboration with John Ristevski, CEO of CyArk, will allow users to experience the glacier in past, present and future.

In April, 2019 I will be traveling to the Arctic Sea with a team from NOAA, Al Roker and his Today Show crew, and the International Arctic Buoy Programme to deploy custom data buoys for scientific and artistic purposes.
